2014 Master Plan Approval
Bankstown Airport Limited welcomes the decision by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development the Hon Warren Truss MP to approve the Bankstown Airport 2014 Master Plan and Airport Environment Strategy. The 2014 Master Plan forms Bankstown Airport’s operational and development plans for the next twenty years.
“The approved Master Plan contains initiatives to boost investment, employment and improve aviation safety,” said Bankstown Airport Chief Executive Officer, Colin Grove.
“The Master Plan includes the facilitation of increased aviation activity including the potential to introduce passenger services, upgrading of runway lighting as well as building new hangars. The Plan also recognises the potential for major non-aviation developments on the south side of the airport in the near future which would significantly boost the economy of south west Sydney.
“We’ve consulted extensively with stakeholders and the community during the past 18 months in developing the 2014 Master Plan and received over 800 submissions as a result of the public consultation process.
“We will continue to consult with stakeholders and the community as we implement our plans and produce an even better aviation and business hub”.
Bankstown Airport Limited will publish the approved 2014 Master Plan on the Airport website www.sydneymetroairport.com.au within 50 business days as required by section 86 of the ‘Airports Act 1996’.
